Due to health issues which have caused me to lose my medical and some additional family concerns, I'm selling my RV-7 kit. This includes a SB fuselage in QB status and QB wings as they came from Vans. I also have the full finish kit and, of course, completed empennage.
The RV kit has been built with oversight from the local EAA chapter 182. A local A&P has given me additional help when I had trouble. I'm happy with everything except the canopy, which you may choose to rebuild. This is not an airworthiness concern; the fit is just not as good as I would like and I chipped a corner of the plexiglass while moving it into storage. Wings are in a cradle, fuse is in a stand.
My wife and I bucked every rivet together on this kit and we hate to lose the blood and tears we've put into it.
Included are beautiful Classic Aero seats, Aviator Bottoms and Sportsman Backs, all heated. They are embroidered with an N number, N74EA, but I'm sure this can be fixed. There are no real customizations or deviations from the main plans except a very nice Andair fuel valve (not yet installed) and pump system. Also have 2 red Crow five-point harnesses.
I can also include a full Cleaveland Tool kit, including Souix air drill, Main Squeeze squeezer. Purchased separately were a DRDT-2 and tungsten bucking bar. These tools make construction much, much easier.
This is a dream given up. But that doesn't mean it's not also an opportunity for someone else. And I'd sure love to see some photos or a video of your completed project when it gets flying.
Well over $30,000 in the airframe + tools + accessories.
I don't expect to get back what I paid. I'm not desperate; I don't really need the money. I'm asking $25,000 for the kit (which I think also reflects that the buyer might want to redo the canopy). I can provide additional photos on request. Everything is located in Collierville, TN just outside of Memphis.
