Default Bowstring Fall Colors Fly-In

Winter is coming........ but the the weather was nice, if not on the cool side today in Minnesota. Earlier this year, the RAF helped save the airport way up north in Bowstring and this weekend they were sponsoring a fly-in/camp-out weekend. I decided to fly up to enjoy breakfast and the fall colors. I was not disappointed! They even had homemade caramel rolls!

High clouds on the way up - about an hour north at RV speeds.....

Passing Grand Rapids

Turning Base for 25 at Bowstring....

Nice Colors on a beautiful strip!

Fishing Anyone?

We flew thru snow showers on the way home - way to early for that.....

Pete, most of your MN RV brothers were at Brainerd for breakfast this morning.

Hi Jim,

I know, they missed the caramel rolls! I talked to them on the radio on the trip up and back.

My wife and I flew to Cable, WI for the breakfast, then to Bowstring for lunch. Great flight, great food. Breakfast at Brainerd would have been a little warmer, though...
