RV?s are wonderful airplanes. Total performance, etc. MAYBE more wonderful than the airplane is the RV family and friendships that VAF and the RV?s bring. The experimental aircraft community and specifically the RV community has introduced us to many wonderful people.
We met Rosie at KOSH 2016 and like so many others we said to him ?we want to join you on your next Caribbean flying trip?. Rosie said ?OK, contact me? not really expecting to hear from us again. We did join Rosie and a total of nine planes to fly from Florida to St Kitts, Grenada, St Croix and back to Florida. GREAT TRIP.
We left Bonaire a few days ago after spending a week SCUBA diving with a group of 27 people. ELEVEN of the people are RV owner/pilots. Most if not all built their planes.
One member of the group was delayed going through security and missed his commercial flight to Bonaire, so he went home and flew his RV6 to southern Florida and then flew to Bonaire the next day!
We made good friends on the 2017 trip and have joined Rosie and extended friends on several other SCUBA trips since then.
Keep pounding those rivets!!
