Elevator Trim Motor

When I installed the elevator trim motor the actuator arm appeared to be at one end of its travel, which means that the trim tab is fully extended in one direction. I'd prefer to have it positioned "in trail" so there is less chance it can get damaged during the build. I assume it would be a simple matter to hook it to a battery, but I don't know which pins, polarity, or voltage to use. Anyone have some insight? Is this as easy as a 9v battery and a jumper wire?

Yes!

If its the Ray Allen servo, they are 12vdc. But, 9vdc battery will be sufficient to power it on the bench.

On the servos I'm familiar with, (please do your own homework) the 2 white wires are connect to source and ground via a rocker switch. The switch position determines polarity of the 2 wires based on whether you want it to extend or retract.

Yes. Just use a 9v "smoke alarm" battery and jumper wires to white wires.
Reverse polarity to change direction.
