Canopy cutter

Hi Folks, I'm looking for a canopy cutter or similar tool to break into and then cut an escape hatch. I have tried to break a cracked canopy from the inside and because of the swing available I couldn't even break a section of it manually, and I wasn't upside down! I was thinking around an outsized can opener. Any thoughts please.
 
Great question with ....

I've seen this question bounced around and have not come to a good conclusion myself. My six has a removable pax stick sharpened to do the job. Will it?

I don't really think so. Carry an axe? I don't really think so.

Has anyone tried breaking plexiglass?

Search for canopy cracker or life hammer here. There is a video of tests of a few different tools. The life hammer worked well. Got mine at Ace Hardware.
