Flap stop

Rigging flaps. Retract to this position and stop.
,
But if I held switch for a 1/2 second more the actuator has enough force to deform the fairing.

Using manual switch with position indicator on EFIS for AOA.
What I see is excessive force on push tube, regular flexing of fairing and mounting, and lower ball joint stress.
Am I missing something?

Wouldn't you adjust the length of the flap actuator rod end so that the flaps stop just up against the fairing? In other words, I would start with the actuator rod adjusted a little too long and see what that gives me. Then shorten in increments until the flaps were just snug up against the fairing. Not sure if that's the right way, but that's the way I did it.

I think you're shooting for what you've got in the top picture when the flap motor is fully retracted.

You were right Pat. It was only a couple of threads from the end of stroke. I assumed there was more then that left.
