Rustoleum Aluminum Primer

I tried a can of this and didn't care for it. It seemed to take a long time to dry and needed more than one coat to cover. The label does say that it's not fully dried for 48 hours so at least they're honest about it.

It's flat white, which you might like. And Home Depot carries it.

I couldn't tell if it has any significant corrosion-inhibiting characteristics. One of the ingredients is magnesium silicate. Magnesium will protect aluminum, but I don't know if that's true in the form it shows up in here.

My impression is that all in all, I'd rather use SEM or a self-etching zinc chromate primer. Both are considerably more expensive than this, though.

I used rust oleum self etching primer, happy with it. After completely dry it is bonded well and durable
