Removing corrosion from Aluminium

Hi guys,

Definitely not RV-related as my RV-12 emp kit is definitely pristine - it's my car... but I figured the principe is the same.

Long story short, I had a steel hitch bolted to my aluminium body and it created galvanic corrosion. The hitch is getting sandblasted and powdercoated this week but there is some pitting on the back of my body. Nothing stuctural, it's the back of my trunk's tub.

I still want to clean and paint if possible, so looking for tips. I have the usual assortments of RV building tools including etching primer, acid etch, epoxy primer, etc etc.

Keeping this RV related. AC43-13-1b, has a full chapter dedicated to corrosion repair. Good info and will give you some guidance on types of corrosion and remedial techniques.
PDF?s on line, just search for it on the ?World Wide Interweb? ;)

Thx - for some reasons I never thought of looking at the good old AC43-13. I have the printed version - it's mandatory for home builders here.

Good info!

Thanks
