Drilling for CS 4-4 rivets

I'm finishing up the elevator skins and the plans call for CS4-4 blind rivets in the lower skins at the elevator tip in two places. The plans say to final drill 7/64" (which would be between a #30 and #40) which is a bit that I don't have. The trouble is that I'm sizing the rivets in a drill guide and they don't fit in a hole smaller than a #30. Should I just drill a #30 hole and call it a day?

According to this page from Van?s online catalog, a CS4-4 rivet is 1/8 inch in diameter, so it should fit in a #30 hole. MK-319 rivets look similar to a CS4-4, but they are smaller and 7/64 is the correct drill bit.

You can see a full-size drawing of both types of rivets in section 5 of the kit instructions.

As Gil mentioned, if you indeed need a 7/64 drill bit, they should be pretty easy to find at Home Depot or a similar store.

Achhhh....my bad. The callout was indeed for an MK-319. Too many hours today. Thanks

Alas, no Harbour Freight up here in the Great White North. I'm sure I can find some drill bits at the trading post though. :D

You can buy drill bits from Acklands Grainger, Gregg Distributers or any industrial supply and hardware store in your area.
