Default AP510 / AVRT5

Is anyone using the AP510 / AVRT5 1W APRS transceiver in their RV?

I am familiar with the AP510 Yahoo Group and have joined to get more info. Still trying to program the unit. I can tell that the cable is plugged into com3 on the computer but have been unable to get the unit programmed.

Have had a number of computer software updates the past week and my only Windows machine is not letting me talk to the unit. My VMware windows PC is also experiencing issues as both the OS and VMware software were updated and now Windows does not work in a window on my Mac.
