Default Vinyl Wrapping, more info

Hi

I am interested in hearing more about the vinyl wrapping process.

I am building an RV7 in the UK and am near the coast so corrosion protection is a big issue for me.

I'd like to vinyl wrap but worried about the protection this would give. Do you prime first? Would there be any reason not to such as the vinyl not sticking etc?

What about the tips? I can even imagine how you would wrap these but is that the way it's done or do these get painted and colour matched?

I will be doing this myself as there isn't any aircraft specialist doing it in the UK as far as I know.

Regards

Several threads on the topic can be found via search (Google or Bing are easier than the built-in search function).

As far as corrosion concerns, you can use alodine (much lighter) vs primer.
