Default Section 25-02 - bulkhead bars

You have to double flush rivet the Bulkhead Bars together but nowhere does it say to countersink them? Have I missed something? I have read it 20 times now....

Checked my blog but no mentioning of the problem and nothing in the master list of common errors either :/

Thanks, Iím assuming they have to be countersunk to allow them to be flush riveted though. Seems like a stupid question but Iím paranoid of an expensive mistake...

The farther you get in the plans, the more little details are left out--------this is an educational process and the need for step-by-step "hand holding" is not as great as when you first start.

Which is understandable except all the other double flush riveting on the next 2 pages has countersinking mentioned.

One is so spoiled with not having to think so in the few instances that you do, as a first time builder you hesitate.... Happens more often in the later parts, I get scared when I read sentences like "Except as noted in Figure 1, install an alternator and alternator belt onto the engine as described in the alternator documentation."

Default Donít forget section 5

Chris,

Vans frequently instructs you to do a procedure that is explained in section 5. I have had to remind myself that if they tell me something in section 5 they often expect not to have to repeat themselves later on.

In this case, double flush riveting is discussed at length in section 5.8 including the countersink process.
