.................................

I recieved my airworthy certificat on 7-21-06 from DAR Ted Gauthier. Very through and professional and explains every phase of the flight process.
finished putting inspection plates and seats in today and launched off for the first flight. Everything worked well during the one hour flight. during the first landing when I used the hat trim switch it Quit and the #5 cylinder cht and egt redlined on the GRT.
Landed and took the cowling off, a little oil leak fixed, removed the fuel injector and it was partialy clogged with some forgien gunk from some where.
The realay in the CH products stick grip burnt out, this is an ongoing problem from what I understand with no fix from CH products they refund $40.00 and you are on your own.
Other than that a PERFECT flight. Time to go for the second flight before it gets dark.

Jim,

Although I'm not flying yet, :( I used a relay bank I made from relays I bought from McMaster-Carr for my aileron and elevator trim. From what I can tell there are not any relays in my CH stick. Is it possible that they eliminated them from newer models? My grips are 4 months old. The wiring diagram that came with the sticks showed the sticks hooked up to a trim relay board from Ray Allen I think. I have heard other say they had relays in their grips but I have straight swithches from what I can tell.

First Flight was 7-28-06. Flys like a dream, only wish I had a little more elevator with full flaps, 75mph, and only a pilot on board. It has just enough but I have the MT prop and have 18 pounds less weight up front.

Still playing with the three screen GRT EFIS

Looking at your builder number you must have built that pretty quick! Who is holding on during the landing? Looks great!

First flight 10-09-06. Picked her up from paint 11-28-06. This is one of the few times she's been sitting still :) Everything I hoped for and more. Thankyou Vans! Here's a few pics of my FLYING RV10. One year project from start to finish including paint. Inspected on 9 April '07 and 1st flight flight was the 28th.

I've put 10.1hrs on it the first week and will continue with the test flights tomorrow....no squawks....period.

I need to say that this airplane is absolutely NOTHING like the RV4's, 6's, 7's, & 8's that I've flown....it reminds me of a flying Cadillac :^) !!

Performs 'as advertised'.....and then some!

Powered by a brand spankin' new Mattituck TMX IO-540.

Yes.....it will be parked at our Ohio Valley RVators Formation Clinic next weekend.

Yes.....everything is for sale :^) .

This link should take you to a few pics:

805HL FLIES!!!!!

I wanted to pass on a quick note to those interested in how my DAR
check and Flyoff went. I got DAR approval on Tues at 2:30. We put all
the fairings and inspection covers on and I was in the air at 4:30. I
flew 2.7 hours that day and developed a LOW oil pressure issue. I
called the engine builder on Wednesday to discuss it and he said is
needed a new spring and ball in the pressure adjustment cap. He Fedex
it to me on Thursday at noon. Come to find out what I really needed
was an aluminum SEAT washer that the pressure check ball fits into.
That SEAT came loose and fell out.........which is NOT suppose to
happen. The oil was leaking around the seat and registering LOW
pressure. After fully inspecting the motor to confirm it was NOT
making metal we FLEW a Baron to Omaha, NE to get the new SEAT, flew
home and the landing gear would not go down!!!!!
PLUS it burned 50 Gals. of fuel in 60 minutes. After cranking the
gear down and doing a fly by to verify it was down..........I got the
new seat in the plane. Viola.....66 PSI oil.........winds were 36 mph
45 degrees to the runway...........UP I went. I flew 3.6 hours in very
gusty conditions.........one landing I had full RUDDER and a 48 MPH GS
. I thought my ankle was gonna break with those gusts hitting the
rudder.......then you have to get it taxied with that nose castering in
the wind!
Friday was a good day..............9.0 hours flown..........Saturday
was great also..............flew 9.2 hours for a total of 25 hours in 4
days!!!!!! Oh yea......today we had a HOT mag....the P lead broke off.

I am now gonna go get some sleep.........until SUNRISE...........then I
have a few friends that want a RIDE!

I still find it hard to believe we got this bird flying and done
(painted with wheel pants)in less than 2 years. Oh
yea........VFR........no Wet Compass yet. But I still would buy a good
handheld GPS before a $250 compass (JMHO)

If you are building ,.........keep bucking it is all WORTH IT! This
plane is UNBELEIVABLE in the air! See you all at OSH '07. Thanks
to all on this list who helped with friendly advice and counsel. I also
wanna thank those who MOTIVATED us to build a great plane on a BUDGET.
It can be done and done very respectably. :) Ask me AND Van! I did
spring for seat covers though unlike Vans plastic, over foam, wrapped
in Duct tape.

Thanks, I was really worried about the colors when you pick them from a 3/4" x 1" sample from the colors book. But I am very happy with how the colors came out and look together. The paint is Dupont Imron AFS400. The White is single stage and the grey and blue are metalic with clear.

colors and or numbers

I am ready to order my paint and share your same concerns with the small sample chips.
Your colors are pretty much what I have in mind. Do you have the color names and or paint color numbers?
Thanks.

N888FF - Paint

http://img162.imageshack.us/img162/8629/dscn1909mv8.jpg

N888FF has 65 hours and first flight was June of 2007.

Paint was applied by Advance Aircraft Refinishers (Griffin GA) by Tony Diaz.

You may remember Advanced Aircraft Refinishers as they painted the 2007 AOPA "Catch a Cardinal" as described in 2007 AOPA Magazine.

The RV1O is a great aircraft and performs as per Van's performance numbers.

Nice paint job

Mark

Very nice looking job on your RV-10.
Was wondering, what the intake in front of the vertical stab is for?

Extra airflow?

Thanks
Marc

N888FF - Panel

The intake in front of the vertical fin is for the overhead air system (Accuracy Avionics).

The paint job was 12K and worth every penny, I am very happy with the finished product, Tony Diaz does outstanding work.

Everything in the panel works as advertised, Had some initial growing pains witht the Blue Mountain EFISs, but they are fully operational and perform as advertised.

That's a great looking aeroplane, but I think Roger Hopkinson in the UK (G-RVIO) beat you into the air by a few months. G-RVIO
