Bell crank play?

I just installed my bell crank and notice a bit of play.

The spacers are nice and square (finished in a lathe), and the assembly is tight. Bolt is torqued to 40 in.lb right now.

There is no visible play on any of the parts, but slight lateral play where I have my hand.

Is that normal?

Hey Mazda
Joe here. Rv7 builder from Woodbridge VA. I think I remember a bit of play in the bell crank when I installed mine. It was very slight so it did not concern me. I would check with Van's and see what they say. Let me know what they say. Joe

I did talk to Vans, and this was the reply.

"One thing to check, just to be absolutely sure – Take a close look where the spacers and the inside race of that bearing meet. There should be absolutely no gap there. The spacer should mate with that race. If the play is coming from the bearing, no problem. If the play is coming because the spacer and bearing don’t meet (and I can’t imagine how that would be once you’ve torqued the bolts down,) then I’d re-make the spacers."

I also supplied them with this video

In my case the assembly is solid and play is from the bearing I believe.

Thanks for the help guys
