RV-12 Exhaust, Section 49, Page #14

I have finished with the exhaust system (except for RTV of springs) and I have a couple of concerns I need to see of others have the same issues. P/N FF-1221 is the hose bracket attached to the lower #1 cylinder exhaust manifold bolt. I am questioning the length of the bracket. The VA-214 right oil cooler hose comes within 1/8" of the #1 exhaust pipe. This seems a little too close for comfort in my book.

I drilled another hole and removed about an inch of material from the FF-1221 hose bracket and this gives the VA-214 oil cooler hose about 5/8" clearance. I might add a heat sheild also.

Result??

At this stage and I agree looks very close to the exhaust pipe. What was your conclusion?? The whole section looks congested especially with the fuel pump drain fitted.
