Default Portland, OR rental/club?

Hello,

My wife and I visit our son and his family in the Portland area fairly often and occasionally have a couple of days that are not scheduled. We find it easy to fly SWA from KC.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a rental or club in the south Portland area for some regional flying while we are here? I would love to see some of southern OR with my wife on days that the kids are in school and possibly take them for a flight around the area. I have looked through AirNav and haven't found much.

Thanks in advance.

I am not aware of any club type situation in the Portland area that you could just pop into and rent an airplane.
There are a number of traditional FBO type businesses that you could probably attain a check out relatively quickly if you already have flight time in type that they have available.

This one is located on Aurora airport.... Van's home airport

Also on Aurora airport

but not sure if they do general use rental or only flight training.

There are probably others north of Portland (southern Washington), but I am not familiar with that area.

The Hillsboro Flying Club (our of KHIO) is a true flying club type setup with a handful of airplanes, as well. Not RVs but a fleet that the membership is happy with.

There's also at least one ELSA RV-12iS currently under construction by EAA Chapter 105 members a group-co-ownership club arrangement. They have 12 ownership slots, and I believe three of those are still available if you'd prefer to be part owner. Probably about a year or so from finishing and will be based out of 7S3 (Twin Oaks Airpark) which is a great location. I can get contact info for that option if you like, just let me know!
