Default WTB - RV4 plans, parts

Getting ready to rebuild an RV-4. If anyone has a set of plans lying around so that I can look up what parts I need to buy, I would love to get my hands on them. RV will sell me new plans for $275, since I already have a legal aircraft. Also looking for engine mount (dynafocal), exhaust, cowl, firewall, or any front end parts. I either have to do this, or sell the project.

Default Plans

Don, You might want to be sure and get a set of plans that have all of the latest revisions on them. The date your kit was purchased by the original builder vs a ďnewĒ full set with instruction book isnít a bad investment. imho

Default USB Stick

Get the $10 USB stick from Vans.

I know it says preview plans, but I refer to them as much as the full size plans that came with the project.

As far as I can see, the plans and manual on the USB stick are up to date.

Very few of the parts on the blue print full size plans are full scale anyway.

Spend the $50 on the preview plans. It's just a scaled down version of the full size plans. If you need to blow them up Kinkos is your friend.

Can probably get the engine mount repaired at McCutcheon Metal. Pretty sure they make or used to make the mounts for Vanís.

Can probably get the landing gear repaired also by the Vanís vendor. Canít remember their name right now. Iím sur others can steer you towards them.

Default Thanks

Thanks for all who responded. I have a full sized set of plans on the way, but the other options you suggested probably would have worked fine. I think my mount is twisted beyond repair. I think my exhaust is repairable, and so the big items I need are the engine mount (I have a possible on that) and a cowl (if possible). If anyone knows anything about going long vs. short legs on an RV4, I would like thoughts on that.

Default Fuel Tanks

Oh yeah - I also need fuel tanks. I'm pretty sure that I will have to build them myself, but the sealant intimidates me. Are their any places that offer them pre-built, but undrilled so they can be matched to a custom built airframe. (Stop laughing out there - I can hear you!)
