Default Whelan System

HI Todd,
I have this Whelan system that was removed from an RV-9A:
Wingtips and tail navs and strobes.
Power supply is A413AHDA-CF-14/28, p/n 01-0770028-05 Rev. U Mfg. 01/02
Wingtips A650-PG-14V Mfg. 01/02 and 09/06
Tail A500A-V-14 Rev. AE Mfg 01/02
Includes the plugs but no wiring. $300 Includes shipping.
Caveat on these… they’ve been sitting for a while and the capacitors will need to be replaced or brought back up gently: The shelf life after leaving the factory is about 24 months. If left unused for 24 months after active use, the same applies. The official way to recondition for use, prepare the capacitor is as follows:
Hook the strobe power supply up to a variable (User selectable) voltage (output) power supply that is rated (amps) for the current requirements of the strobe power supply. If you don't have this available most avionics shops or electronics repair shops will have this capability.
(this is for 12/14 VDC units only) With NOTHING attached to the Strobe Power Supply output (no strobes attached) do the following:
Power for 15 minutes 3 VDC input,
15 minutes 6 VDC input,
15 minutes 9 VDC input,
15 minutes 12 VDC input
The unit is now ready for normal installed use with strobe tubes attached.

I am not equipped to do this. Note that Whelan will not repair their power supplies if they’re over 10 years old. If you just need the strobe and nav light units without the power supplies, contact me and we can try to work something out.

Hi, me again,
I also have a Duckworks landing light system for sale... HID lamps. Not sure exactly what's there. Also removed from the same RV-9A. I'll be at the airport tomorrow and get you details. This can go cheap, too.

Paul
Will your "The Works" Wingtip Lighting Kit work for my RV9A? See link to photo below.
Thanks

Hi Ferdara
Welcome to VAF!

Yes we have a Works kit for the RV-9(A). It's a tight fit but it does all get in there!
