Default WTB: wingtip, tail, and ldg lights

I appreciate VAF and the good advice and good buys I have found. Time to close my wings and make lighting purchases. Everything I find new seems to be 1k +. Im trying to build on a budget and struggle with a grand alone for lighting. Ideas out there? Or is this one of those just get the checkbook out moments?

I flew a 10 with the Vans lights which seemed to work fine.

I have a lighting system on my plane that is coming off in a few weeks. No idea of the mfg or model. It appears to be a standard Vans tail light. A belly strobe, halogen wingtip lighting, DIY LEDs for positions and another DIY wingtip strobes.

All works great. Strobe box appears automotive.

As part of my panel swap Im going to all FlyLED lights.

I can take pics if your interested as Id sell it really low just to get rid of it all.

Thanks. Josh.

Default MicroBurst III

Consider one of these, as then you don't have to run wires to the tail.

MicroBurst III Forward facing Wingtip Nav, with CometFlash 180 degree LED-Strobe and rear facing White Nav MB3G 01-0771507-01

Todd,
For my RV-9 build, I got a FLYleds works kit. This does involve assembly (which is the fun part anyway), but is more in the budget range you're looking at.
I had the same thoughts of overall expense for lighting and I was certainly keen to trade effort for a $$ saving.

I second the FlyLEDs setup.
Very happy with my LEDs from them.

I have a Whelen position and strobe light system that I removed from my RV that could save you some money. Please check your PMs.

Hi Todd

I'm pretty sure you'll find our products are within your budget.
And in keeping with the whole DIY aspect of building you can easily build your build your own (bright!) lights as well!

Happy to answer your questions here or via email: paul at flyleds dot com

Thanks to all for the recommendations!

This is what I used on my plane. Kuntzleman has strobe/LED Nav in one unit, then I put one Duckworks LED light in each wing tip. Should be about half the price of what you have been looking at.
