Nut slip indicator.

As a (barely) relevant aside, when/why did Van's switch from the good, old AN365 to the MS21042 nuts? I used the former on my old -8 everywhere other than firewall-forward, where the all-metal nuts seemed like a better choice.

I still prefer the 365s, as they take a standard ⅜" wrench (of which I have many different lengths and types), whereas the 21042s take a ?" wrench (of which I have correspondingly fewer) which always seem to slip off the tiny nuts' limited grip area at the most inopportune moments.

Why, oh why? :)

Raid your wife's nail polish stash.

or yours; there's nothing wrong with that....

LOL

Or go to an auto parts store and buy one of those small paint touch-up sticks. I use yellow for everything that I have torqued. Very gratifying...

Nail polish

I tried nail polish but just wasnt great. I went to Grainer and bought 2 tubes; lifetime supply. No reason to fear the right stuff.
