Higher fuel pressure after transducer install

I have an O-320. I just installed a JPI engine monitor, with a floscan fuel flow transducer.

My fuel pressure before the install was 4.5 - 5 psi. After the install it is 7 psi. According to the Lycoming Operators manual 7 is still acceptable. But I'm just wondering if a fuel flow transducer can increase fuel pressure? I assume it adds some resistance to the circuit and so it makes some sense that fuel pressure would increase.

The difference could also be explained by differences in the sensors or the instruments they are attached to.

When I switched from analog gauges to digital in my RV-6, both my oil temperature and oil pressure readings dropped, even though nothing else changed.
