Fitting the Vertical Stab

Check out the picture. I assume that I will have to cut away the horizontal leg of the longeron so that the VS spar will butt against the last bulkhead, correct?

Also, when riveting the side skins, I riveted the last bulhead and now see that they have to be drilled out and riveted to the VS spar, correct?

The task of notching out the aft ends' horizontal flanges is on manual page 8-4.

The VS rear spar is not riveted to the aft fuse bulkhead. It will be bolted on through the aft bulkhead. (DWG 6, 21, 26, 27, 27A)

I guess I must have missed that when I fabbed the longerons. Oh well, it shouldn't be much of a problem to notch them now.

It's easy to miss - I initially missed it as well when I first fabbed my longerons, and caught it later before I got to the point of fitting the VS - which by the way, I did last night, and fit the rudder today.
