Default My gust lock design

Sorry Allen (Antisplat), I couldn't wait any longer. We needed a gust lock for our rudder on Mojo because she is doing so much traveling to distant airports. It is easy to secure the ailerons and elevators with the seatbelts but we needed an easy way to secure the rather large rudder. This is what I came up with. It consists of an old shower curtain rod, part of an old broomstick, a 4" compression spring and the rubber thumb off of my wife's kitchen cleanup glove. Total cost---$1.43 for the spring.
