Default Canopy crack

Anyone have any experience repairing a canopy crack? I have an RV-8 with a 4" crack behind the passenger seat. It's been stop drilled and has flow for over 2 years as is. I'm outside of Orlando Florida. Thanks!

I used this approach:

https://www.polyvance.com/pfxcanopy.php-1

Worked fine.

How is the canopy attached to the frame? Rivets or glue?

Default Canopy repair

My 7 had the usual broken out piece at the right rear corner. Thru a friend, I met a gentleman who had used this same technique to repair an 8 canopy previously. He took my canopy (and the broken piece) and a week later, returned a beautifully repared canopy. The old crack is not visible nor can you feel it. It is also very strong.

Hope this works as well for you.

Default Crack repair

I had a crack in the same spot, 4" and stop drilled. I ran across a product and procedure in this forum that I followed. Right now it's been more than 2 years and no problems.

Product: scigrip #4 and scigrip #16 (both are acrylic bonding cements)
#4 is thin and has a fine plastic tube which is inserted into the crack. Follow up with the thicker #16 then buff. The crack can still be seen but very strong bond.

Good luck
