Tank/rib/spar joint

I'm building an F1/F4 utilizing modified RV4 wings. The joint at the tank/rib/spar is of some concern. The tank/wing splice doubler extends from top spar cap to bottom spar cap and offers some WX protection. It stops short of the spar cap for obvious reasons. This would be a water ingress point straight to the spar. I have ideas regarding sealing this area but would like to solicit more. Much thanks.

Leave it alone. 10,000 flying RVs aren't having a problem.

Taken to the extreme, there is such a thing as too much "sealing". Remember, you are also sealing moisture in, which condenses, then evaporates, in a loop. That is much worse for your airframe than if you let the air circulate freely.

Just look at the inside of a thermal pane window with a broken seal. The water isn't friendly, not even to glass.
