I think I'm gonna go with the Mil Spec MIL-P-23377 Epoxy Primer, mainly because I like the color! (Joke) Anyone know where I can pick up a gallon of this stuff? Thanks!

Used to be PPG DP-70, but I see that they don't seem to make it anymore under that number..... :(

Detco Marine will sell it. It's Sterling "U-1201 yellow, strontium chromate epoxy primer"

Also at West Marine stores...

Detco used to give a significant EAA discount, if you call them, mention your EAA membership.

Gil forgot to mention that epoxy primers are a "two part" creature. I've tried Akzo, Deft and the Sterling (actually U-1201/U-1202). I vote for the Sterling. This stuff is amazingly tough. I get it through my local Marritt Marine distributer. I use a friend's wholesale account and I pay about $95 for a 2 gallon kit (1 gallon of U-1201 primer and 1 gallon of U-1202 activator. It gets mixed 50/50) If you live in an area where boating is popular, I suggest checking with your local marine paint supplier.
