Can I wait to temporarily attach wings?

I'm at the step on the RV-9 where the instructions call for temporarily attaching the wings (setting incidence, drilling rear spar attach etc) and empennage. This would be a bit of a hassle with the garage, as the longer wingspan of the -9A will take up most of 3 bays. Any reason this couldn't be put off until final assembly at the hangar? I can't see where this is needed now for the later steps of cabin fitments of brake and fuel lines and so on. Anything I'm missing? I did find some posts and builder's sites where folks waited.

Just skip it and build on. No problem.

Wait till you get it in the hangar and attach once permanently. Lots of builders have done exactly that.

The longer you can keep the wings out of your way the better... probably a couple of months from flying you'll be ready.
