Looks like Van's documenters have been busy

New manuals, lots of plans updates, and a couple new notifications.

Sure would like some guidance from you guys. How are we to comply with this statement in Notification 14-07-03?? Have the lawyers gone astray??

Van’s Aircraft recommends that owners and/or operators of all RV models comply with the applicable recommendations in SAIB HQ-14-16.

Read the last paragraph of the first page.

My understanding is that if a nut is bad, torquing it to the standard value will cause it to crack.

Inspect the nuts for cracks... If no cracks, nut is ok.

How many of this style does Vans provide in the kit?

Are they use in the -12s?

That's the nuts provided for the RV-14 thus far.

Yes, they are used in the 12, mostly in the engine area if I recall correctly.

Thanks, I think their use in the earlier kits is negligible...

Pulled the notebook and looked at the parts listings for the subkits. Found that Van's supplied 29 locknuts for my vintage RV-12. First person to locate all of them in the plans, WINS!
