Default Wanted: large plastic air vent

I know, I know, they don't seal very well. For my application however, it will be just fine. My recently acquired RV-8 did not have the rear stick closeout. The current rear air vent is the smaller sized aluminum version. I ordered the closeout from Grove Air and it came with the hole punched for the large size air vent. My son and I seldom fly with anyone in the rear seat so avoiding some air leakage is not worth the cost of replacing with an aluminum one.

Does anyone have one of the large black plastic ones they'd be willing to part with?

Thanks

Default Air Vents

Rob,

I think I have 2 from my RV-8 upgrade, Iíll check to make sure they are still in the hangar but pretty sure they are. Send me your address via PM or e-mail and Iíll send one to you if I still have them.

Anyone else out there need the other one?

Oly

Default Closeout?

Sorry, don't have an extra vent, but looked on Grove Air site for the closeout...couldn't find it. Are you sure it was from Grove? If not, could you please share your source?
Thanks.

Slightly off topic. I look at all of the commercial aircraft being scrapped around the country and have wondered if the thousands of over seat eyeball vents could be repurposed by the experimental community. Given that it does not appear that a market exists for them there must be a reason you do not see them available. Most are well made and some of the earlier ones are relativly large in diameter they should be easy to pull from the overhead panels.

Thanks Ray. Oly is going to send me one as soon as he can move. Right now they, like most of us, are on lock down. If for some reason, he can't find it or something, I'll get back in touch.

Thanks
