w-721 flap brace question

Hi all. I am getting ready to rivet my bottom wing skins and mount the w-721 flap brace. Question does the w-721 flap brace get countersunk where it gets sandwiched between the dimpled bottom skin and the flap hinge? I can not find any reference in the manual or plans. My thinking is that the flap hinge needs a flat surface to be riveted to. Correct? Thanks Joe

I dimpled all three components. The skin is .032 the brace .040 and the 257 hinge is .040. I didn't find any reference in the plans but in section 5 early on Vans recommended dimpling .040 and under and I have just been following the instructions more or less through the fuselage and its working out. I suspect you could countersink either the flap brace or the hinge. If I were to do one or the other I would do the brace as it is sandwiched between the two. Hope this helps.
