Not another SIKA question....

DMFenster

Using Sika for my 8 canopy. Have the canopy clamped and masked and am ready to remove to prepare the surfaces. My plan is to run beads between the clamps to tack the thing in place. Then go back after the first application has cured and fill in the holes and apply the nice fillet. So here's the question - What needs to be done to re-activate the primer so the next layer will stick. Read the Sika manual and it says it needs to be re-activated, but does not say how.

Thanks all,

Dave

Sika Manual here:

From page 3:
"Primers must always be allowed to
dry thoroughly before application of
the Sikaflex? adhesive. If left too
long, primed areas must be reapplied
or reactivated.
Minimum and
maximum drying times are given in
the primer chart in this guide.
Primed surfaces should be protected
from contamination by dust, dirt,
grease, vapours, moisture, etc., until
the bond is formed"

Dave,
I asked the same question of the Sika rep online when I did my canopy. Just apply another coat of primer again over both the old primer and the adhesive beads you applied.
