garmin GTR-200 Audio in

DMFenster

Well Known Member
I want to wire the Vans stall warner (Micro switch in the wing) to the comm. (Garmin GTR-200 - no audio panel). I see on the pinout that there is a AUX AUDIO IN HI and a AUX AUDIO IN LO. Do I wire the stall warner so that the signal is on the HI pin and then the ground (from the little circuit board) to the LO pin. Alternativey, could someone just explain what the HI and LO stand for. I am thinking it'll work if I wire the signal line to HI since the little circuit board is grounded and not run a ground from the circuit board to the radio.

Thanks,
Dave

Stall warner

Be aware the stall warner produces a loud annoying
sound. I have the Garmin Gtr. I wired mine directly
To the audio jack. I had to use a resistor to dull the sound.
Than I decided to eliminate the sound and replaced with a red
Light on the panel. I did not want that sound in my headset every
Time I landed. If you want it to go through the Garmin, do a test
On both. I think you will prefer the low. Also, the micro switch in the wing completes
The ground when closed. Easy to hook up a light. Bypass the noise on my opinion.

Are you running an EFIS?

When I asked Garmin they said I can run it directly to my G3X and it will handle the alerting.
