HS Inboard Hinge Bracket Assembly

Plans page 8-3, Step 2 has you bolt the assembly to the HS rear spar. No biggie, there. It calls out hardware to use. Section 5.20 says to be certain to put a washer on the head of the bolt. The plans do not call out a washer.

Should we add the washer at the head per section 5.20?

Mike,

Not in this case. In this case you hold the bolt and torque the nut so the nut has a washer.

5.20 is referring to a case where you must torque the bolt head. In that case you need a washer under the bolt head. Think bolt going into a blind threaded hole or a nutplate.
