Just received my avionics package. The mass of wires and connectors is a little overwhelming. I need a some plans or lesson on manufacturing a bracket or box to hold avionics in the open glove box hole. I have a picture example but plans would help.
Someone posted an idea of using T-channel that captures nuts for mounting the radios. I can't find that original post. It allows the radios to be re-positioned easily without having to drill new screw holes; just loosen the screw and slide the radio and tray up or down.
I covered over the map box hole with a plate and built rails between the panel and sub panel for mounting boxes. http://www.vansairforce.com/community/showpost.php?p=1136427&postcount=20
The pilot side has a GTR 20 radio, the co-pilot side has the GTX 23ES transponder with the GDL 39R ADS-B piggybacked. (The case for the transponder has to be removed from its mount before the transponder can be slid out of the case.)
I used the sub panel to mount the GAD 29, GEA 24 and a TCW IPS.
