Battery Box Firewall uneven mount?

I'm calling it a day but I can't figure this out. It's likely my fatigue.

page 28-10 The battery box top 6 holes attach to the top firewall, which was installed forward of the firewall sides thus creating a gap behind the battery box equal to the thickness of the firewall steel.

Furthermore the top firewall has a slight ridge bent just up from the top support leading me to think I screwed up and the top firewall should have been aft of the side panels.

Is it correct to have this gap? The image shows me holding the battery box next to the firewall with the overlapping steel skins

Thanks.
Mark

I looked at my firewall and battery box last night because I saw your post while I was at work. The plans definitely show the top panel of the firewall forward of the side panels. That's how I built mine. There is not a major gap on mine. Your picture link didn't work for me but I suspect you have the same situation I do, and should build on. I can't imagine the battery box coming apart in flight because of a misalignment of the small magnitude caused by the thin firewall material.

Thanks! It will pull tight but I just was second guessing myself as to why they would allow a small thickness gap.

I appreciate it.
