Garmin GEA24 vs GAD27 discrete inputs

Is there any advantage one way or another to using the discrete inputs on the GEA24 vs GAD27 - specifically the stall warning alert using the kit stall warning?

Any advantage would be aircraft specific

I don't think from a core system perspective there is any strong advantages. It may come down to a system level installation considerations. Some examples:

If you have the GEA 24 on an essential bus, but the GAD 29 is not, you would probably want to use the GEA 24.

Both units communicate on the CAN bus, but the GEA 24 has the optional RS-232 backup path. If you have that backup wired, you should still get this information to the display even in the rare event of a CAN bus failure.

Finally, the GAD and GEA may be placed in different locations in the airplane which may make it easier to wire the input to one versus the other.

I hope that gives you some food for thought.

Thanks,
Levi
