VS attachment point

Obviously I am getting ahead of myself in my build but as a matter of curiosity, I looked at the plans for the front spar VS attachment point and it looks like it gets attached only with one bolt to a relatively thin .060 plate. Is that all it is used to attached the front spar?

I know a few RV9s have had a crack in this attachment plate which is riveted to the VS spar and bolted to the HS. Antisplat has made as part to beef up this area which is subject to some controversy.

Yes, the plans are correct and tails aren't falling off. Everytime you beef up something, the stress just gets moved somewhere else. Not saying the anti-splat part is or could cause a problem. The RV-9 is an engineered airplane. :)
