Oil pressure fitting location?

Where, exactly, does the oil pressure fitting go? In the circular recess to the right of the magneto pinch clamp? Engine is an IO-320 D1A.

It's the one right next to the magneto clamp. The one in the recess will work but is unfortunately covered up by the engine rubber mount. A straight or 45 will work.

Thanks! I've got the Van's supplied 45-degree fitting, so I'll go with that.

Here is where it is on my O-320 E2D. The 45 degree fitting next to the magneto location. It will clear the engine mount (barely).



Be sure to use a fitting with a restrictor installed.

If you pull both of those plugs out and stick a paper-clip in the hole you will find that both go into the same oil gally. With most of the early engine cases you would only get the one port, but with these newer castings the "O.E.M.'s" have started giving us two so we can plumb it as needed.
