Wingtip question

A friend just acquired an RV-8A. He's looking to replace the wingtips. He's looking for tips without the landing-light cutout and some he says "swoop" upward. Anybody out there have a Van's part number? Thanks.

I don't know of any that actually swoop upward - but he might be talking about the old style tips that had a fairly flat top and the bottom came up to meet it. That would have been pre-2003, when I got my "bat-wing-swoop" tips as standard.

Here is a picture of a friend who built his -8 about 1998.

No light and it appears to be swooped.

My old RV-6 plans call then W-615, but I think they may be the same as the RV-4 ones which are still listed on Vans "The List" as W-415.

Does your buddy need one or two? I have one good one and one with a big warp on the top surface... don't know which is which at the moment though.

I have a pair of the W-415-L/R Hoerner style wing tips that I don't need.

$100 plus shipping costs if you're interested (Vans price is $234 each).
