OshKosh Daddy Daughter Date

crabandy

Well Known Member
My oldest daughter Showed a real interest in going to OshKosh this year, why not. We made it a short Sun-Tues trip but had a ball overall. Already kicked the tires and ready to light the fires, as my oldest she's really my best helper and mature for her age.

I couldn't not take a pic of her in front of a row of Mustangs and OSH Tower.

We headed north out of OSH for breakfast in Door County Wisconsin, 180 miles isn't that far out of the way in the RV. We flew right over the Packers stadium on the way.

Ephriam (3D2) has a bunch of bikes at the airport so you can pedal yourself the mile or two into town. We both had a good time!

A slight learning curve with the 3-speed automatic bikes but we easily made our way into the Old Post Office Restaurant to split an omelet and a short stack of cherry pancakes.

We stopped for gas/snacks/restroom at Clinton, Ia (CWI) on the way home and they were having a C-150 fly-in. This 150 has the call-sign of several RV's...

Way cool

Maybe a shory trip Andy......but it sure seemed like it was packed full of a lifetime of memories.......awesome:)

You surely know how to make fun out of every trip you do Andy. None is the same. Thanks for sharing :)

Thanks for the trip report.

It was neat to see someone else landed at Ephriam (3D2) after leaving Oshkosh. I didn't go into town, only fuel for the plane. I was taking a "shortcut" from Oshkosh on my back to Newton, KS via flying by the Mackinaw bridge and down through Michigan.

Oh, I want to do that route someday soon!

Great adventure and now memory.
Did Dad share some 'stick time' with Daughter?

We had to make a choice between the stick and a booster seat, we chose the booster seat so she could see out better. A "modified" booster seat is in the works. We did go through what every single digit and thingie was on the EFIS, and she can navigate via Direct To and dial in radio frequencies. I can't wait to have her start talking on the radio, should raise an eyebrow or two!

Way cool Andy! How old is she? My little boy is 4, will be just over 5 next year for Oshkosh and I would love to take him but worried he might be too little. The short trip was probably perfect. Great write-up, thanks for sharing.

She's almost 10. I was a little unsure wether she would enjoy it or not, she spends more than her fair share of time at the local airport asking "are you done talking yet, what else do you have to work on?" I gave her fair warning that there would be non-stop walking and daddy talking about airplanes.

The shorter time frame was good although I think we both would've liked to have stayed another day. When we were driving home she said I'm not allowed to go back to OshKosh without her.

That's awesome... Next year, plan to spend several hours at Kidventure. My ten year old daughter did nearly all of the kiddo activities and we both had a blast.

What a great adventure you had.
I was the camo RV parked next to you.
Brought memories with my boys when they were her age.

Just Great!

They grow up way too fast! Great pics that will tell the story forever..... Nicely done, very nicely done!

Trip to Remember

What a great experience for both father and daughter. She will remember that for a lifetime. Reading your post made me feel something I don't feel very often. Jealousy!

GREAT TRIP!!!! put a smile on my face almost as big as hers. Thanks for sharing.

Andy,
A super idea, taking her to OSH; the only better one you will ever have will be to take her anytime, anywhere that you can. One of the hardest things you will ever face will be becoming the second most important guy in her life.
