Has anyone mounted their GMU-22 Magnetometer in their wingtip and used the Hinge/Pin method to attach your fiberglass wingtips?
I'm wondering if the "pin" caused unacceptable interference with the GMU?
I understand using nutplates and stainless steel screws has proven to be acceptable. I prefer the look of attaching the wingtips with the hinge method----However, the Van's .09 stainless steel pins are attracted to a magnet, and I suspect the pins would create issues with the GMU operation??
Anyone have experience with the above question, thanks in advance for replies.
