What is the amount of fuel burnt climbing?

Wolf Aviation

I'm New Here
For an RV-8A with a Lycoming 180 horse, and just the pilot aboard, climbing to 7500 from sea level, what should be the fuel burn?
Thanks,

Jim

Hey I'll play.
180 hp uses about 15gph full rich.
Climb at say 1k/ min.
7.5k from sl is 7.5'
Thats .25 gpm for 7.5 minutes.
I would say 2 gallons or 1.875.
It would really be a little less as you could lean on climb.
Thats only climb and does not include taxi, run-up and t/o.

Fuel

Depends on the prop. Fixed pitch prop will usually limit power in climb, Constant Speed at full r/m will burn more fuel.
