The RV-3 needs a fair number of fabricated parts and wooden jigs and supports.
I've found that a good pair of scissors is essential for making stiff paper patterns. I use cut-up file folders that for that, it's exactly the right material.
Also, a good wood saw is essential. I've got a table saw, my band saw and a sabre saw. All get used, but the table saw is used the least, possibly because it's hard to get to in my shop.
So there you go: scissors and a wood saw. Happy cutting!
Oh - and one other thing too -- a good shop vac. It's my most-often-used tool. Get a quiet one. Mine is outrageously powerful (I like that part) and equally loud. I bought one that looked promising, a Rigid brand from HD, and frankly it's worthless. It has the noise without the suction. The powerful one's a Shop Vac brand, 4 hp (or so they say).
