Lycoming Model designations

Hello folks,

I am looking for a chart that identifies the major differences between the various models of Lycs.

Thanks

I did a quick google search on "Lycoming engine designations".

Here are some links the search returned:

This is probably the one that would give you the most insight into how Lycoming designates engines:
http://home.comcast.net/~aeroengine/Introduction.html

read 2 or 3 posts down on this to find some info on designations:

Another source:
http://intlaviationstandards.org/MakeModel.html

Here is Wikipedia's information:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_military_aero_engine_designations

Check rour preview plans

There is a complete listing for all the various Lycoming engines in Section 11 if the builders manual.

This document has since be superceded

SSP 204 was current when Mahlon posted this. Several months later, Lycoming superceded SSP 204 with SSP 108 (December 2008). See
