F404 wing fuselage attach, drawing 13

I don,t understand how the f404e side plate attaches to the rest of the assembly. Does it goon the outside of the flanges but under the skin, which seems like the most logical arrangement? The only alternative I can imagine is on the outside of the skin.

Yep, you got it right. Goes outside of F-404 flanges, but under the side skins. Definitely not on the outside of the skins. There are 8 to 10 AN426AD4-5 flush rivets that hold the side plates onto the forward & aft flanges until later-on when the side skins are fitted, drilled, and riveted in assembly. Good Luck!
