VANS COWLING TO PLENUM 9 (with pix)

My Plenum In my RV 9A that I am trying to figure out how to connect a transition from my plenum to the standard vans cowling. The plenum somewhat sets inside the top and bottom cowling, not touching. (((((IS THAT OK))))) Sides and aft will slide down on the metal baffling. The forward part is fiberglass not metal.

Larry, I changed my stock Van's cowling to round inlets/plenum etc. I semi copied DanH's idea of making a fiberglass reinforced boot to make the connection between the plenum and the cowling. I think a rubber boot could be made to transition from the plenum to the stock Vans cowling.

Many ways to make this transition, it's definitely worth the time to do it right. My goals improved sealing and made the cowling easier to remove and install.

Never mind my finger poking through this boot, it came apart during runup testing but you can see how the boot and cowling come together. The current boots on the airplane are holding up great so far for the past 50+ hours.
