Nose Fork

Probably another daft question, the bottom of the nose fork is open and, to me, subject to all kinds of **** getting in. Anybody plugged this off??

We Yanks here in the states are blessed with many, many, many paved runways so it not really a problem. Because of the direction the wheel turns the mud would fly up on to the bottom of the fuselage and not into the strut hole.
No body has reported plugging here on the form.
