Thumbs up Good deal and timing

Just in time for SnF! Thanks!
It would really be nice to see a deal on databases. I have a G3X and a 660 I pay $149 I believe for my G3X database annual updates and I also have to pay that for my 660 annually. Any way we could get a deal if we have both of these and want to keep them current?

Great news on the additional products, I have the GDL39 hardwired (RS232) to the 796 and BT to the iPhone and iPad, how many simultaneous BT connections does the GDL39 support? Is the hardwired connection support in the works?
Thanks

Default Disable RS232?

Brian, thanks for the input, next question is whether the BT and serial interfaces can run concurrently from the 39 or do you have to disable the 232 on port 1 to use the BT. If they can run concurrently I could choose on a flight basis whether to turn BT on or off. How many BT devices does the 39 store for automatics reconnect.

I assume the new products will show up in Garmin pilot also so the data will be available but the 796 is easier to use in flight (for me) as it is right below the PFD.

Hello Dave,

Yes, you can run both the RS-232 and Bluetooth connections at the same time if you like.

All of the new FIS-B products are forecast, not live, except for lightning.

I think your plan of judiciously using Bluetooth is a good one. Personally I use forecast products for trip planning, but not in flight, so I don't even bother connecting up the Bluetooth unless there might be lightning out there to see. I have everything hardwired.

Thanks,
Steve

Default RS-232

Hi Steve,
Are there plans to make the new weather products available over the hardwired connection from my GDL-50 to my 796 in the future?

Default 796 bluetooth to IOS

I guess the 796 still does not support IOS Bluetooth (tried today and it connects but wont pair), is it in the plans to connect the IOS Garmin pilot to the 796 somehow to allow flight plan transfers etc?(i.e via the GDL39 connection and the hard wired link?).

Also with this capability currently using the BT link from the 796 to the GDL39 it limits the GDL39 to only one other BT connection (I normally have the phone and ipad connected).
Thanks
Figs
