Default APRS texting

Is anyone using the Tiny-Trax 4 for texting? If I understand correctly I can connect a Bluetooth module that would let me send/receive text from my smart phone? Just wondering if anyone has one up and running in their plane?

I use a diff system that has a garmin GPS as a front end. It works OK but not is not as foolproof as the cell network...... it does get a msg out at altitude, tho.
