Asymmetric top cowl trimming?

To compensate for P factor (torque) the engine is not mounted straight to the fuselage. Measure it, you will see what I'm talking about.

So, not trusting that I was using DanH's method correctly (http://www.vansairforce.com/community/showpost.php?p=971560&postcount=2), I decided to mount the prop, level the spinner plate and laser it, bisecting the spinner plate (convenient alignment holes provided!). Sure enough, the left inlet is quite a bit larger than the right.

Left side: 10/32"

Right side; zero trim

Black lines were my first try on the floor; the laser pretty much confirms it.

However the overlap on the left side is pretty small .. 1/16" ish. Looks like I'll need to extend cowl edge a bit.
